My Body Confidence Journey: Day 4

Hi, hello, how are you?
Today is a turning out to be a really good day, which has surprised me! When I have tried to work on my body confidence in the past, it’s normally day 3 or 4 that I start to give up. But I feel so different right now… So different in fact, that I worked-out today for the first time in months! I weight trained first, then focused on lower body strength. It wasn’t anything too strenuous (I probably trained for half an hour), but I actually WANTED to do it.
I practiced EFT (please check out the videos below, EFT has proved invaluable on this journey so far!) and released a lot of those negative emotions. I focused on the helpful thoughts sheet that I created yesterday (worksheet 2 – person outline) and woke up feeling much better than expected (although not perfect).
That leads me to a short phone call from my mum at 8:25am today. She called to tell me about this “amazing” meditation she had found on Insight Timer… Remember the app I mentioned in Day 2’s blog? She sent me the link to it (“Love Your Body Better” by Louisa Tanner Munson) and I thought it was brilliant. I felt calm, rested and loved. I know this sounds a bit cheesy – but I really think this played a part in my motivation to want to exercise and look after myself this morning. I’d say that’s LESSON 2: Meditate! By observing my thoughts and feelings, I really recognised what I had been doing and saying to myself, and found a way to try and stop.
Finally, some big news for me. This is day 4 without binge eating. I rarely go longer than 2 or 3 days, especially when I have as much going on in my personal life that I am dealing with at the moment. Therefore, I am going to leave you with LESSON 3: Be proud of your wins – no matter how big or small they may seem. I am proud of me. I am proud of you. Maybe you can be proud of you too?
