Top tips for increasing self-love!

Picture
“Self-love is not selfish. Some say it’s impossible to truly love another until you know how to love yourself.” - Unknown

Since it is the acclaimed World Chocolate Day, what better a time than for HappiMe co-creator, Abby, to share some of the things that she encourages her clients to do daily, to help them love themselves almost as much as they love chocolate…

1. Write a little “Self-Love List” each day, containing at least 1 thing you are proud of yourself for doing that day. It can be something as simple as, “today I am proud of myself for being honest with my colleague when he asked how I was feeling”.

2. Practice conscious forgiveness each evening, forgiving both the self and any others who may have wronged you. Learning to forgive helps increase your levels of compassion. When you’re able to forgive others, it opens the gate to forgiving yourself. Of course, self-compassion and forgiveness work together to increase your ability to love yourself.

3. Do something you're good at as often as you can! Whether you’re good at baking, listening, reading, sports or even cleaning; doing something you are good at releases endorphins, which will help increase the strength of your self-love.

If you’d like any advice on how to do any of these tips, or how best to implement them into your busy life, please  get in touch here.

Remember, be kind to yourself.

How else can HappiMe help you or your child? We offer targeted coaching programmes, which can be really useful for supporting you to develop more helpful thinking patterns. Find out more here.
