Mental health in schools..."You are not your illness. You have an individual story to tell. You have a name, a history, a personality. Staying yourself is part of the battle.” – Julian Seifter
This week's posts will be focusing on the huge topic of MENTAL HEALTH! To begin with, we wanted to share Hailey Hardcastle’s TED Talk, which we felt carried a very important message… Schools can be rife with stress, anxiety, panic attacks and even burnout - but there's often no formal policy for students who need to prioritise their well-being. Hailey Hardcastle explains why schools should offer mental health days and allow students time to practice emotional hygiene without stigma. Follow along in the TED Talk to learn how she and a team of fellow teens transformed their advocacy into law. The HappiMe team also send our huge congratulations for pushing for the 'Mental Health Day' bill to be passed! Support this inspiring young person by watching her TEDX Talk here. How else can HappiMe help you or your child? We offer targeted coaching programmes, which can be really useful for supporting you to develop more helpful thinking patterns. Find out more here.
