Lockdown activities for families...“There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.” – John Green
We felt today was a great day to recognise that it’s National Picnic Month! Given that we are just coming out of lockdown, it seemed fitting to think about what families in the UK can do right now, to help make sure they are staying mentally healthy… 1. Get outside! Put together a picnic and sit out in the garden, or even join up with another family & have a socially distanced picnic at your local park. 2. Communicate… Find time each day to sit & talk about how your day has been. Be honest when you talk & be present when you listen. The power of open conversation can make a big difference when a loved-one is struggling. 3. Smile! Find things that make you smile… Simple stuff like watching a funny film, picking a series to watch as a family, having a board games night or getting creative & designing your own Garden Olympics. Laughter releases endorphins & can be great for your mental health. Want some more inspiration? Check out this article produced by ‘Wales Online’ back in April.
