It seems we may be nearing the end of “lockdown”, so HappiMe co-creator, Abby, thought it would be helpful to spend this week sharing her daily rich-uals & tips for thriving, not just surviving… So, here’s part 2!
2. Mid-morning: Once I am ready, I head into my home-office and normally work for around 2-hours without taking a break (unless I need to pee, of course!). This helps me to be productive & is often my most creative & effective time of the day. I think setting short deadlines can really help with staying efficient & organised, which is why I do this most mornings.
Around 11am, I make a coffee & depending on the weather, chill outside for a while. I would normally read for 15-minutes, complete a short gratitude meditation or catch up on social media whilst I’m in the garden, but if it’s raining (as it did by the lorry-load last week), then the sofa it is! Once I have taken some time out, I go back to work for another couple of hours before stopping for lunch & a dog walk. This is my favourite time of the working day, as I get to…
A. Leave the house B. Spend time with Bailey C. Eat food.
All big wins. This is also the point where I should say that I eat really healthy lunch – but if I am honest, that is not true. I am a big believer in balance, so provided I exercise regularly, have my smoothie each morning & enjoy a healthy dinner, my lunch is generally a carb-tastic plateful of yumminess. Think soups, bagels or my latest favourite; vegan fish finger sandwiches. Dream.
The rest of my afternoon is normally pretty full of clients or admin tasks, so I would often work through until 4-5pm. Once I am finished though, I always enjoy tea and biscuits, spend a little more time outside with Bailey & practice a visualisation alongside listening to my ‘helpful thoughts’…
Check out our next post for the rest of my daily routine!
