The HappiMe Story So Far...

HappiMe started as a dream. A dream to make a difference. A dream to help rid children, young people and adults of worry, anxiety and unhappiness. Then along came the fantastic Abby Pickles, Amy Friend and a whole heap of wonderful people who wanted to help make that dream come true. Hundreds and hundreds of people have supported the HappiMe project so far with their money, their time, their expertise, their skills and their support.
Lovely people have volunteered to build us a website, record all the audios for the app, write us a song, help with social media, raise funds for us, proofread our books, test our apps, design the HappiMe characters and support our fundraising talks and workshops - just because they can.
We are truly blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful people.

HappiMe is a Community Interest Company set up to help spread the HappiMe Message. In 2012, Jo had breast cancer, lost her mum and found out her husband was having an affair.  These events changed her life in so many incredible ways - it was the wake up call she needed. She decided to get fit and healthy (she lost over 8.5 stones), reduce the stress in her life (dumped the husband and started meditating), downsized her other business and starting doing the things that made her heart sing - creating stuff to empower children, young people, adults and businesses to be the best (and happiest) they can be!

The idea for HappiMe came whilst Jo was going through her cancer treatment. It started as a simple mobile app and quickly grew into a much bigger project with books, blogs and personal development programmes for children and adults.

HappiMe seemed to grow it's own legs and knew where it wanted to go! Everyone that has worked on the project so far, including myself and HappiMe co-director, Abby,  have volunteered their time, skills and expertise completely free of charge to get HappiMe off of the ground. The team raised the £6000 to create the apps via a GoFundMe Campaign and have been absolutely overwhelmed by the help and support received (see our Gratitude List for our Supporters here) to make HappiMe happen.

To raise the much needed funds for HappiMe, Jo decided to use her skills as a business coach to run low cost coaching groups for small businesses and sole traders in Bristol. Whilst this was great for a while, she soon ran out of business owners to market the workshops to!  So... in September 2018, she set up a Facebook group called The Bristol Small Business Network with the commitment to post a business tip, resource or quote that would motivate a small business owner, every day for a year. Yes 365 blogs and tips over 365 days! (I know, what was she thinking?!). But it worked. Gradually people joined and started to engage and the group now has a busy, very engaged, lovely group of over 3,000 small businesses owners in the group with over 20,000 engagements per month (posts, comments and likes).

Keep it here to find out what Jo's next project will be.
